Origins 2000–present
Sal and Mo met in high school in Riverside. After college Mo followed a girlfriend to San Diego, and the band became two cities with a freeway between them — visits, and songs worked out remotely. In 2000 they ran an ad in the San Diego Recycler for a woman to sing over two dreampop songs, Golden and Naked. Caraleigh answered it. Sal met Joe in Riverside, playing with his previous band.
Caraleigh sang on Please, Please, Please in 2002, and on two older recordings that stayed unreleased until Saint Marie put them out in 2014 and 2016. On 30 August 2004 the band announced a new singer: Louise. The same day they announced the CD had been picked up by Projekt, and six weeks later they opened for Black Tape for a Blue Girl, whose Sam Rosenthal founded that label.
They worked Southern California and nowhere else, sharing stages with Gene Loves Jezebel, Conjure One and Trespassers William.
Then it went quiet — but not gone. Saint Marie went back for two unreleased recordings and put them out in 2014 and 2016, a decade after they were made. Labels do not go back for nothing.
The band is recording again in Hollywood, summer 2026. Stay tuned.
